EFT And Marker Pens – Jayashree Janardhan Ashok

Here is my experience with Sambhavi - my 4 1/2 year old daughter.

Sambhavi came back from school with what seemed to be the beginning of a UTI (urinary tract infection) or some kind of bad stomach problem. A little while after she came home and had her snack, she put her hand on her tummy and complained of pain. The pain shot up suddenly and soon she could not even stand up. She was screaming. She had also been having some digestion problems and I wasnt sure at that point if she had UTI or a serious stomach problem.  I’m guessing her pain was at least 9 on 10.

My own anxiety shot up with her pain - I was  nervous since we had not yet identified a hospital for emergencies.  We had just moved to Bangalore and I had just started looking around and not yet found one close to where we live. Her pain and screaming had me imagining all kinds of possibilities since I knew the ride to a hospital was at least an hour away. With Bhavi screaming in pain - I had to quickly get to work.  My instincts  told me that I would need to take her to an allopathic doctor even if the pain subsided with EFT. I was in a brief quandary - if I EFT and remove the pain can an allopathic doctor diagnose what has happened? She had been having an uneasy stomach for a few days.  An idea came to me - I found a marker pen and resolved to use the marker pen and EFT technique!

She was curled up in a ball thanks to the pain. I gently asked her where it hurt - she pointed out the spot to me. I marked it with a marker pen. I started tapping on her. After a couple of rounds she stopped screaming. She was still curled up in a ball and EFT was a bit of a challenge. I kept using EFT (or magic buttons as we call them at home) and marked all the spots she told me were painful. She was very precise and even told me where it did not hurt. After a while she yawned - a sign she was relaxing. I could gently straighten out her body. I did a couple more rounds when she told me to stop and fell asleep in minutes. She woke up an hour later - a completely new person!

The hour had given me enough time to locate a doctor. One of my new neighbours miraculously showed up at my door and gave me a doctor's phone number! Soon I had found 3 numbers and fixed up an appointment. Ready to leave, Bhavi actually skipped to the car-taxi. We loaded up into a car and made it in record time - by Bangalore standards.  It seemed all the traffic had cleared for us!

At the doctor's a beaming  Bhavi showed the doctor all the spots where it had hurt just a couple of hours ago. The doctor confirmed my suspicions of both a mild UTI and worms. (De-worming children seems to be a regular necessity in India).  She promptly received the care she needed. Not just that - the doctor has asked me to teach EFT at his clinic. It only makes me even more aware of just how powerful this process is.

And needless to mention I am one beaming mother!
