EFT has greatly helped me with my heart rate problem. – Reshma Madhusudan, Bangalore

I am 35.  About 2 years ago, I was told that I had a defective mitral valve. My symptoms were similar to asthma (fatigue, shortness of breath, night wheezing cough etc.) and for a long time prior to that, I was told that I had chronic cough because of asthma.  Eventually in June 2007 I had an open heart surgery and the procedure revealed a calcified (healed endocarditis) valve that needed a ring to tighten it and the new chords in the bottom chamber. I had wonderful doctors who definitely deserve all the gratitude for my heart.

Post operative, my recovery was quite quick, and my heart steadily has grown stronger  - a big thanks to Jayahsree who introduced EFT and also regularly reminded me to give sustained and conscious gratitude to my heart!.  I had also immersed myself into a good walking schedule and 40 minutes of yoga, 4 days a week.

A few months after the surgery, I was concerned as my ECG's revealed an abnormal heart rhythm.  I was told that this happens in many cases and that usually if it does not go away on its own, an EP procedure called radio frequency ablation needs to be done.  I was terrified that the doctors were considering tinkering with my heart yet again.  I was also angry that I was not aware of this possibility and surprised to have it after all the care I had taken to keep me on the road to recovery.  I immediately sought out Jay to hep me identify my true feelings and tapped on the concerns. We then worked together on the high and irregular heart rate itself.  This was around 10 days before the EP procedure. I felt my whole rhythm change with a few rounds of intense EFT with Jayashree that very day.  At the end of our session the heart rate came down to lower than what it had been for the past months.  .

I  continued a daily practice with EFT to acknowledge/accept my body as is and the anxiety I had about the high heart rate.  I also continued my daily yoga and shavasana during this timeThe overall heart rate keep dropping steadily with sustained daily practice.

Finally the time came for the EP procedure. I went in on the day grateful for all the care I was receiving, detached and as quiet as I could be within my body.  The procedure lasted 4 hours.  The EP cardiologists tried hard to scan my heart for the abnormal rhythm with every possible attempt to excite my heart into manifesting the rhythm.  They gave up after 4 hours and said they could not detect the abnormality at all!  This was the same doctor who 2 week back had pointed to an anatomical anatomy chart of the heart, indicating an exact location in the right atrial chamber where the signal was detected!  That day I was tired and angry for having gone through the procedure - I rested. The next day, again with EFT with Jayashree I released the anger, tiredness and stress of the whole event.

My heart rate conitnues to fluctuate sometimes, but with EFT I am able to help myself accept and listen to my body. I need to continue this practice and balance my body every day.  There are days when I am anxious about it, but I am gaining confidence in being able to sustain myself and my life with my own heart.
